INTRODUCING THRIVE LEE

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

A Drug-Free Lee Prevention Program

About Thrive Lee

WHY REBRAND?

The proposed rebrand to Thrive Lee shifts our public identity from problem-focused language to a youth-strength and wellness-centered message. Research shows positive framing improves engagement with youth, families, donors, and schools while preserving our prevention mission. The legal entity “Drug Free Lee” remains unchanged to protect funding and compliance.

Our Community Committment

Thrive Lee is a community driven prevention organization dedicated to helping young people grow strong, make smart choices, and build healthy futures. The organization brings together schools, families, community leaders, and local partners to deliver education, early prevention programs, and youth support initiatives that reduce substance misuse before it starts.

Thrive Lee’s approach is positive, practical, and prevention focused. By equipping youth with the right knowledge, skills, and support, the organization aims to ensure that young people don’t just avoid risk — they thrive.

Our History

Since it’s founding in 1989 by Jim Nathan, Sheriff Mike Scott and a group of local leaders, Thrive Lee has worked to provide prevention resources to families in Lee County. Prevention events include Drug House Odyssey, Red Ribbon Week Celebrations, Town Hall Meetings and Lunch and Learn Educational Events.

Our Goal is to Mobilize 12 sectors of the community, including: Youth, Parents, Businesses, Media, Schools, Youth Serving Organizations, Law Enforcement, Faith Based Community, Civic and Volunteer Groups, Health Care Professionals, State, Local or Tribal Agencies, and Other Organizations Involved in Reducing Substance Abuse.

Our Mission

To build a healthier Lee County by strengthening youth, families, and communities through prevention, education and early support.

Our Values

Stronger choices. Stronger families. Healthy futures.

Prevention first. Community always. Healthy futures for every child.

Drug House Odyssey

Drug House Odyssey, a data informed prevention event, has influenced Lee County kids for over 32 years with its vital message of underage drinking prevention. Host a showing at your church, organization, or, home.

Drug House Odyssey – It’s Time to Talk

Drug House Odyssey is one of Lee County’s oldest and largest event for a reason.  With its combination of the actual Drug House Odyssey scenes of the effects of underage drinking and drinking and driving and discussion questions presented by Lee County Athletes, Media Personalities and Law Enforcement, the Drug House Odyssey becomes an important component for a community discussion about making good decisions.  The Drug House Odyssey is a vital beginning to a discussion with any teen on “What would you do?”.  The video is recommended for families with teens, church and youth groups, classrooms, clubs and teams.  This free resource will be one of the most valuable hours you spend with your teens.
